(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA: A 44-year-old woman has lodged a police report alleging she was assaulted and threatened by a male acquaintance at a condominium in Kampung Batu Muda, Sentul, last week. Sentul police chief Basri Sagoni said the incident happened on Feb 25 at around 11pm, when the woman and her 10-month-old child were in her rented unit at Sky Awani 2. “The suspect allegedly punched the woman on the left side of her face, causing swelling and bruising,” he said in a statement. He said the incident escalated after the child began to cry. This angered the suspect and he hit the victim. The next morning, the suspect allegedly forced the woman to engage in an unwanted sexual act at the same location. “The victim sustained injuries to her face, neck, and anal area. However, a medical examination at Hospital Kuala Lumpur found no evidence of sexual assault,” Basri said. Investigations revealed that the victim and the suspect had known each other since January, but they were only in the early stages of their relationship. The suspect had occasionally stayed over at the victim’s rented room. Basri said the woman also claimed that the suspect threatened her, saying, “Don’t tell anyone, or you’ll see what happens. I can do anything (to you).” The case is currently being investigated under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
