Shameem Begum Abdul Said admitted to a gang robbery charge alongside 30‐year‐old Muhammat Rashid Ismail, who is partially paralysed. The charge was read to them before judge Che Wan Zaidi Che Wan Ibrahim, Berita Harian reported. The duo were accused of committing the offence at about noon on Feb 24 at a car park behind a bank at the Pasir Gudang Trade Centre in Johor. They were charged under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery, read together with Section 120B(1) of the same code for criminal conspiracy to commit a serious offence. The prosecution was led by deputy public prosecutor Afdhallan Syafiq Azmy. Shameem was unrepresented while Rashid was represented by lawyer Hafez Zalkapli. Hafez requested bail for Rashid, citing his health condition as a person with disabilities. The court granted bail of RM12,000 each for Shameem and Rashid and set April 8 for next mention of the case.
