(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA: The welfare department has ordered Seberang Jaya Hospital’s childcare centre to temporarily shut down after a four-month-old baby died while under its care earlier this week. The department said it would cooperate with the police investigation into the child’s death, adding that the probe would cover the centre’s compliance with regulations on daycare centre operations. In a statement today, it said every centre registered under the Child Care Centre Act 1984 must comply with rules pertaining to the qualifications of childminders and child safety procedures. Hayl Haarith Syafaeez died in the early hours of March 9 after being found unconscious at the childcare centre. Hayl was the son of a nurse who worked at the hospital and who was on the night shift. Two women believed to be workers at the daycare centre have been detained to assist in the investigation.
