All school administrators, including principals, headmasters and district education offices, have been ordered to monitor daily temperature levels. IPOH: Administrators have been given permission to temporarily close schools if temperatures exceed 37 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days. Deputy education minister Wong Kah Woh said this was part of the guidelines set by the ministry since 2023 and could be implemented if the ongoing hot spell worsens. Wong said all school administrators, including principals, headmasters and district education offices, had been ordered to monitor daily temperature levels. “State education departments and schools have sufficient experience in managing the current situation,” he said after a working visit to SKJT Gopeng here today. “Outdoor school activities must also be suspended if temperatures range between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days, including cross-country runs, camping, drills and other outdoor activities,” he added.
