Ringgit opens marginally lower after Middle East strike

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened marginally lower against the US dollar on the first trading day of March as risk-off sentiment intensified following a joint US-Israel strike on Iran over the weekend. At 8.01am, the ringgit eased 0.19% to 3.8985/3.9205 against the greenback from last Friday’s close of 3.8910/3.8960. Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist Afzanizam Rashid said key uncertainties centred on the duration and severity of the conflict. MORE TO COME
