SIBU (Dec 26): Two luxury vehicles were confiscated for having expired road tax during enforcement operations conducted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sibu in conjunction with Christmas.
JPJ Sibu Enforcement Division head Ariffin Zaini said a total of 123 vehicles of various types were inspected during the Christmas Special Ops and Ops Luxury carried out around the town recently.
“Such operations will be continued from time to time to ensure that all road users comply with traffic rules,” he said in a post on JPJ’s official Facebook page.
Ariffin said enforcement activities were carried out through patrols and thorough inspections of private and luxury vehicles at strategic locations.
“This is to ensure compliance with road laws, as well as to enhance road user safety and create a safe and orderly environment for all,” he added.
