Exchange session between members of the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce and the Fujian entrepreneurs.
KOTA KINABALU (Dec 18): The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) hosted an exchange session with a delegation of entrepreneurs from Fujian Province, reflecting strong interest from the Fujian business community in Sabah’s development opportunities.
SCCC president Datuk Frankie Liew said the visit had injected new momentum into the deepening of economic and trade cooperation between Sabah and Fujian, while laying a solid foundation for closer communication, expanded practical collaboration and mutually beneficial outcomes.
The Fujian delegation paid a courtesy call and participated in a business-matching exchange at the SCCC headquarters in Kolombong on Wednesday. The delegation comprised representatives from various enterprises, including Luo Jinfa, Chairman of Fujian Quanzhou Building Materials City; Jiang Zhenguo, General Manager of Fujian Haohui Landscape Construction Engineering Co Ltd, accompanied by Deputy General Manager Jiang Junmin, Procurement Manager Zhang Yingquan and Business Manager Huang Yukun; Cai Qunyi, Legal Representative of Quanzhou Zhongwang Trading Co Ltd; Huang Fuchuan, General Manager of Fujian Hui’an Boguan Landscape Decoration Engineering Co Ltd; Huang Yuzhi, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Quanzhou Data Group; and Wu Jianwen, General Manager of Guangdong Yunshuntong Technology Information Co Ltd.
The visiting entrepreneurs are involved in sectors ranging from building materials and landscape engineering to trade, the digital economy and information technology, bringing fresh impetus to Sabah–Fujian economic cooperation.
Liew welcomed the delegation and introduced local companies and SCCC committee members taking part in the exchange, including Vice President Datuk Simon Teoh, Director of Public Relations Anthony Leong, committee members Lucas Kwan, Chin Hui Zhi and Chan Jun Git, as well as young entrepreneurs’ representative Elaine Chan.
He noted that Sabah is endowed with abundant natural resources, a strategic geographical location and a steadily improving investment environment. In recent years, economic and trade exchanges between Sabah and China, particularly Fujian Province, have continued to gather momentum, with significant potential for cooperation in infrastructure development, the digital economy, landscape and environmental projects, as well as trade and logistics.
Liew added that SCCC will continue to play its role as a bridge and platform by assisting Fujian entrepreneurs in connecting with local Sabah resources, promoting the implementation of concrete projects and fostering complementary strengths for win-win cooperation.
Both sides expressed hope that the exchange would further deepen practical cooperation between enterprises in Sabah and Fujian, and jointly open a new chapter in regional economic and trade development.
