(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA: The northern region of Peninsular Malaysia has been experiencing exceptionally hot weather in the past three days, with a heat wave recorded in the Padang Terap district in Kedah. The meteorological department (MetMalaysia) said a heat wave constitutes temperatures of between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius lasting three days in a row. MetMalaysia said 10 other locations in the northern peninsula recorded “alert” levels of hot weather after witnessing temperatures from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius for three days straight. They are Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Sik, Langkawi, Kuala Muda, Pendang, Baling and Bandar Baharu in Kedah; the entire state of Perlis; and Timur Laut in Penang.
