(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds from the Sejahtera Komuniti Madani (Sejati Madani) programme in Terengganu found that no offences under the MACC Act 2009 had been committed, says the anti-graft agency’s state branch. Terengganu MACC director Hazrul Shazreen Abd Yazid confirmed the matter and urged anyone with information or evidence regarding the alleged misappropriation of allocations from the programme to come forward and cooperate with the probe, Bernama reported. Terengganu MACC said the probe into the programme began last year. Earlier, Malaysiakini reported Amanah central committee member Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah as saying he had received several complaints about the project, alleging that state-level political figures had diverted funds meant for low-income participants. The former Kuala Terengganu MP said the victims had lodged complaints with the authorities, including MACC and the police. Launched in March 2024, Sejati Madani aims to boost local socio-economic development by providing funding of up to RM100,000, focusing on agriculture, livestock, handicrafts and tourism.
