Men’s spa directors claim trial over alleged immoral activities

The four men faced the charges before three different magistrates at the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex. KUALA LUMPUR: Two directors of men’s spa Otot2 claimed trial in the magistrates’ court today to permitting immoral activities at the premises last year, while a worker and two clients also faced charges. The two directors, aged 59 and 70, pleaded not guilty to jointly allowing immoral activities at the premises beyond the scope of their licensed business. According to the charge read before magistrate S Arunjothy, the offence was committed at Positive Leader Sdn Bhd, also known as Otot2, in Chow Kit, here, at about 8pm, on Nov 28, 2025. The charge was framed under Section 20(1)(c) of the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) By-Laws 2016, punishable under Section 38 of the same law and read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code. They face a fine of up to RM2,000, or imprisonment of up to one year, or both. For a continuing offence, a further fine of up to RM200 per day may be imposed after conviction. In the same court, a 63-year-old spa employee pleaded not guilty to possessing a mobile phone containing obscene videos. He was accused of committing the offence at the Dang Wangi police headquarters at about 11.15am on Nov 30, 2025. The charge, under Section 292(a) of the Penal Code, carries a jail term of up to three years, or a fine, or both. In a separate court, a 44-year-old client of the spa pleaded not guilty to possessing a mobile phone containing obscene videos. He was charged under Section 292(a) of the Penal Code before magistrate Noorelynna Hanim Halim. In another court, a 19-year-old client claimed trial before magistrate Illi Marisqa Khalizan to committing an act of gross indecency by touching the chest and thigh of a 46-year-old man in the presence of two policemen. He was alleged to have committed the offence at Otot2 at about 8pm on Nov 28, 2025. The charge, under Section 377D of the Penal Code, carries a jail term of up to two years. The courts granted bail of RM2,000 each to the directors, with one surety; RM3,800 to the spa employee; RM4,000 to the 44-year-old customer; and RM2,800 to the 19-year-old customer. The courts set May 18 for mention for the directors and spa employee; June 9 for the 44-year-old accused and April 24 for the 19-year-old. Lawyers Zaid Malek, Mahajoth Singh, Reenajir Kaur Golen, Raqib B Osman and S Jeichendran appeared for the accused, while deputy public prosecutors Iman Nurhidayah Ezani, Syafika Azwa Fikri and Vivi’ Asnita Zaina’ Larifin represented the prosecution.
