PETALING JAYA: Police have confirmed that one of the men believed to be involved in the shooting in Taman Seri Kapar, Klang, this morning, has died. Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said medical personnel confirmed the man, who was riding pillion on a motorcycle, dead at the scene, while the rider sustained injuries. He said the incident unfolded when two men on a motorcycle opened fire on a lorry driver in Kampung Perepat, Kapar. The driver’s employer, who was in a separate four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle, then pursued the two men to Jalan Keretapi Lama. Shazeli said one of the men brandished an object resembling a gun, after which the 4WD driver rammed the motorcycle, causing both men to fall. He said checks found that the 4WD driver, a 49-year-old local, had previous criminal and drug-related records. “The deceased had 23 past records related to various serious criminal cases including murder, attempted murder and gang robbery. The injured man has 10 criminal records and is a wanted person under Section 130V of the Penal Code,” Bernama quoted him as saying. Shazeli said the 4WD driver has been arrested and police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Earlier, Shazeli said two men were injured in a collision with a 4WD vehicle after they opened fire on a lorry driver in Taman Seri Kapar, Klang, this morning. A 13-second video showing a man lying on the road, believed to be related to the shooting, has gone viral on social media.
