According to Harian Metro, Seremban police chief Azahar Abdul Rahim said the suspect was detained in front of a restaurant at Garden Homes at about 9.10pm on Tuesday. The arrest was made by the state and district anti-vice, gambling and secret societies (D7) units. Azahar said the suspect, who has a record for four crime-related offences, has been remanded for three days from Wednesday to assist in the investigation under Section 45 of the Societies Act 1966. “The investigation is still at an early stage, and police are identifying individuals involved to have their statements recorded,” he said in a statement today. Azahar said police had previously received a report on a dispute involving Year Six students in Seremban on March 12. He said a preliminary investigation found that external parties with gang affiliations are attempting to influence the students to join an illegal group. “Police have opened an investigation paper under Section 45 of the Societies Act 1966 for further investigation and as a preventive measure to ensure this issue does not spread within the community, especially among students,” he said.
