Bersatu vice-president Ronald Kiandee said he received the show-cause letter on Feb 28 while Wanita Bersatu chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said she has no plans to respond to it. PETALING JAYA: Bersatu vice-president Ronald Kiandee and Wanita Bersatu chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin have received show-cause letters from the party’s disciplinary board over several allegations. Kiandee, the party’s chief whip, said he received the letter on Feb 28 and that the deadline to respond is today, Sinar Harian reported. “Whether I respond or not, I am certain action will still be taken, and I believe it is aimed at removing us for supporting Hamzah Zainudin,” he was quoted as saying at the Moreh Perdana event and the launch of the Negeri Sembilan Gempur Rasuah campaign in Port Dickson last night. He said one of the reasons why he received the show-cause letter was his decision to send a letter to Perikatan Nasional chief whip Takiyuddin Hassan informing him that 13 Bersatu MPs backed Hamzah as opposition leader in Parliament. Similarly, Mas Ermieyati said today was also the deadline for her to reply to the show-cause letter. “So far I have no intention of responding. We’ll see what happens later,” said the Wanita Bersatu chief and Masjid Tanah MP. Ronald and Mas Ermieyati were among those who attended a gathering backing Hamzah on Feb 14, a day after the Bersatu deputy president was sacked by the party. On Feb 19, Mas Ermieyati confirmed she had stepped down as Bersatu’s Masjid Tanah division chief.
