(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA: The husband of an actress has been charged in two separate courts in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, with cheating involving state land and an honorary title. At the sessions court, Apri Hazreen Sapri, 41, claimed trial before judge Kamil Nizam to a charge of deceiving a 56-year-old man into making online payments totalling RM270,811 to a bank account belonging to a 35-year-old woman. The transactions were purportedly for obtaining non-existent state land in Selangor, Astro Awani reported. The offence was said to have been committed at a bank in Seremban between April 2, 2025, and Nov 13, 2025. Apri also pleaded not guilty before magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli to deceiving a 49-year-old man into paying RM23,120 to obtain a Datuk title. The offence was allegedly committed between Jan 22 and Nov 9, 2025, at an office in Seremban 2. Both charges were framed under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating. The sessions court allowed Apri bail of RM25,000 with one surety and ordered him to surrender his passport, refrain from tampering with witnesses, and report to a police station once a month until the conclusion of the case. The magistrate, meanwhile, fixed bail at RM3,000. Both courts fixed April 15 for case mention. Deputy public prosecutor Nadia Ezzati Zainal handled the prosecution in the sessions court while deputy public prosecutor Nik Nur Aqilah Syarfa Nik Zaidi handled the case in the magistrates’ court. Apri was unrepresented in both cases.
