(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA: Three men, including a Hong Kong national, and a woman were arrested yesterday for allegedly running a “mini casino” along Jalan Gelenggang, Bukit Damansara. Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the suspects, aged between 27 and 49, were detained in a 3.30pm raid, Utusan Malaysia reported. “They used several websites and social media platforms to promote their mini casino. “The syndicate targeted countries in the Asian region, namely Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines and Thailand, as locations for these activities,” he was quoted as saying. Fadil said the group had been running the mini casino since 2022. He added that the case is being probed under Section 4(1)(g) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 which criminalises inviting people to gamble at a gaming house. The suspect from Hong Kong is also being investigated for not having a valid visitor’s pass.
